Something Blue at The Cherry Barn
They say every wedding needs something old, something new, something borrowed — and of course, something blue. Well, when The Tipsy Trailer trotted into The Cherry Barn in East Sussex, she brought all that and more. With her mane braided and bar gleaming, she was ready to steal hearts and pour joy in equal measure.
Behind the scenes, with Fred at the wheel, Tipsy was coaxed from her resting spot, still warm from her stable. Her saddlebags were packed, her glasses polished, and her garnishes freshly clipped. She was coupled to the tow bar, lights checked and indicators blinking like winks of excitement. The sat nav was tapped in, and off she cantered through the Kent and Sussex countryside — her first real adventure!
Arriving at The Cherry Barn, nestled among cherry orchards, wildflower meadows, and apple-packing barns, she was gently guided into place. With care, she was levelled, steadied, and styled to perfection — all ready to make her debut.
And what a debut it was. Blue hydrangeas, delphiniums, agapanthus and sprigs of eucalyptus fluttered from her garlands. Aqua-tinted vintage bottles caught the light, and her cocktail menu shimmered in sky-blue tones. From Aperol spritz and elderflower fizz to sparkling mocktails topped with sugared blueberries, every glass was a photo-ready delight.
Guests gathered around her bar, sipping and smiling, while the golden light filtered through festoon lights strung above the courtyard. Laughter echoed between the old brick walls, cameras clicked, and Tipsy’s silhouette became part of the celebration. Whether posed beside hay bales or under the orchard trees, she was right at home — adding sparkle, charm and a little something blue.
As the sky faded from blush to indigo and the last toast was raised, Tipsy stood quietly — basking in the warmth of love and lantern light, ready to hitch up and head off to her next destination.
From whimsical woodland weddings to vineyard views, Tipsy’s journey has only just begun.
